How often to service
- Homes: at least once a year, ideally before summer.

What a proper service includes
- Cleaning or replacing filters.
- Cleaning the indoor coil and the outdoor condenser.
- Checking the gas pressure and looking for leaks.
- Clearing the drain line so water does not leak inside.
- Checking electrical connections, the remote and the thermostat.
Warning signs
- Weak airflow or the room never gets cold.
- Water dripping from the indoor unit.
- Strange noises or bad smells.
- Higher electricity bills than usual.
